COMING SPRING 2020 - LAWRENCEBURG COMMUNITY CHORUS

The Lawrenceburg Community Chorus, under the direction of Sue Lou Smith, will begin April 2020 and run through June 2020. It will be open to adults and youth in grades 7-12. Our rehearsal period will be Monday evenings from 7:15-8:15 and will perform 1-2 concerts for our community. Our Community Chorus provides youth and adults who love to sing, the opportunity to come together and make music together under a wonderful director. Sue Lou Smith is no stranger to the Lawrenceburg Community, she has retired from both High School Choral conducting as well Music Director at First Christian Church for many years. We have been thrilled to have her assist in conducting the Lawrenceburg Children's Choir and she currently accompanies many High School choral programs in the region. This program is a tuition based program and is $35 per month. Registration fees cover the cost of our music budget and is a one time fee of $50. Register today! Lawrenceburg Children’s Choir is an Arts education program with Lawrenceburg Academy of Performing Arts, Inc. Our newly formed Lawrenceburg Community Chorus is an adult & youth choir comprised of youth in grades 7-12 and adult singers.

These ensembles will learn vocal techniques, music theory and ensemble singing through a varied repertoire of music and performing opportunities. The Lawrenceburg Children’s Choir will consist of children ages 6-18 (Grades 1st-12th). Children's Choir will rehearse Mondays from 6-7 pm September - May. Students in grade 7-12 will rehearse for Christmas performances through December and will have the option to break from January - March and begin again in April with our NEWLY formed Adult Community Chorus, under the direction of Sue Lou Smith. Children in grades 1-6 will continue with Mrs. Lewis for second semester and end our season in May. Our Lawrenceburg Community Chorus will run April - June for Adults and Youth in Grades 7-12. Our Lawrenceburg Children's Choir will perform at Light Up Lawrenceburg, Kentucky State Capital Rotunda and one other event for the Christmas Season. Our Spring semester will consist of 1-2 community performances for both ensembles.

MISSION

The mission of the Lawrenceburg Children’s Choir is to provide opportunities through choral music education while providing arts entertainment to a variety of audiences. The children of the Lawrenceburg Children’s Chorus will serve as ambassadors for the Lawrenceburg Academy of Performing Arts, Inc. and the community of Lawrenceburg as we share the universal language of music.

TUITION

Tuition for Lawrenceburg Children’s Choir is monthly and a student’s participation and financial obligation is for the current year’s term which is September 2019 through May 2020. There is a non-refundable $50.00 registration fee due with your registration form. Registration fee will cover a uniformed polo shirt and help toward the purchase of music needs.
